STEM Summer Institute
Irving and Associates’ STEM two-week summer institute is designed to promote students’ (grades 3-5) interest in STEM programs and careers by using the Engineering Design Process. Inquiry-based learning encourages them to solve real world problems.

Character Building Modules
Professional development activities are designed for teachers using teaching modules that are structured to give students practical methods for diffusing and peacefully handling conflicts. Each module uses cooperative learning strategies and hands-on activities that stress character-building ( i.e. bullying, self-esteem, lying, stealing, and dropping out of school. The activities are designed for a
K -6 audience.

Read to Excel
Literacy Program
The focal points of the Read to Excel program (grades K-5) are to 1) motivate and excite children to learn and love to read 2) strengthen children’s reading ability, and 3) improve children’s reading, comprehension, and writing skills. Read to Excel is based on the Even Start Literacy Program where parents and children read together and participated in creative reading activities. Previous results, as documented by the diagnostic reading assessment, indicate the reading and comprehension levels of the participating children improved two grade levels.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Sourcebook
In consultation with a University or College Administrator, IACES can assist in creating a framework and roadmap to guide systemic efforts for diversifying the curriculum and elevating DEI pedagogy. This work can help foster diverse and inclusive curricular. The primary deliverable is a review of pertinent literature that includes:
1. Review of other universities policies and practices
2. Synthesis of DEI research and literature
3. Recommend philanthropic organizations to pursue funding for university’s implementation of a DEI initiative
